Random thoughts

I have always longed to be a science fiction writer, and great stories are always flowing through my brain. I have always been a creative thinker, yet, I am attacked from both fronts when doing things that require imagination:
I come up with new helpful inventions all the time, like how to create a digital school book that would cost under 100 dollars to produce, and allow a student to have all their school books, and access to an entire library full of additional books, in a device that weighs less than a couple pounds. However, this requires an inital investment. The above idea, would only cost me about $500 dollars down, and would return thousands, probably hundreds of thousands… but I never have $500 to spend on an invention (though I tend to find money to spend on playstations and xboxes).
I also come up with stories all the time, as stated above. If you give me a setting, theme, or topic… I will in under thirty seconds, come up with a full cast of charaters, their relationships, backgrounds, and a basic outline of where the story takes place. I can write the first few pages of the book, but I will never be able to go further than this. I don’t like to think its because I am lazy, I have wrote pages and pages of documents and created artwork and such for Patriots of the Digital Revolution. However, there it is. I cannot write a book. I could write short stories, but it seems that I can never have enough time to really develop anything, and the whole story feels… robbed… and when it seems decent, I can draw too many similarities to the books of others (I find that my writing mirrors that of Cory Doctorow, considering I typically get in the mood to write myself, when I am reading his stuff).
So I apply myself as an activist. I was a pretty decent sized part of the United States Pirate Party, a political party whos goals were very much on par for what I felt should be the future of the United States. However, you cannot be much of an activist in a political party, unless the year has the numbers 197 or 196 in it. I have started the process of creating the Patriots of the Digial Revolution. This is going to be an awesome organization, which has already started to turn heads, and gain some interest in the United States and a couple other countries. I was surprised that one of the first people who contacted me, was a polish man. I have never had a friend in Poland before — I thought they were all busy making sausages, which I was quickly informed that they do not.
Where am I going with this? No where far — I was sitting down to write a short story, and it turned into a blog post. I thought some of you might be interested in my thought process… and I realized that I had no topic for tonights blog entry.
